I certainly know how it feels to be the drizzle to someone’s hurricane.

Here is the last post before the weekend. I think that’s what I’ve decided to do with this project, by the way. I’ll post during the week but break for the weekends since a million other things seem to capture my attention during the weekends.

Anyway, my last post has to do with an author I would like to check out. Stumbleupon, the great joy of the bored and procrastinating everywhere, brought me to CShayR’s photostream which was filled with wonderful quotations. I always get excited when I find good quotations. I’ve kept a collection of them since I was very young. The one I happened upon was from John Green’s book Looking For Alaska:

“I wanted so badly to lie down next to her on the couch, to wrap my arms around her and sleep. Not fuck, just like in those movies. Not even have sex. Just sleep together in the most innocent sense of the phrase. But I lacked the courage and she had a boyfriend and I was gawky and she was gorgeous and I was hopelessly boring and she was endlessly fascinating. So I walked back to my room and collapsed on the bottom bunk, thinking that if people were rain, I was drizzle and she was a hurricane.”

In just a few short sentences Green captures perfectly every emotion wrapped up in the utterly confusing, exciting, and agonizing experience of teenage unrequited infatuation. I think I want to read this book now.
